Czech it Out

Exploring Craft Pivo in the Czech Republic

With the overwhelmingly positive responses to 2019's "Czech It Out", 2022's "Czech It Out Too", and 2024's "Czech it Out Again", we are excited to be heading back to the Czech Republic to give Beercationers another chance at Czech'n out the pivo of the Czech Republic!

Embarking September 5th through 16th, for an 11-night trip to once again beercation across the Czech Republic in search of amazing beers, this time we are in the early fall when the crowds are starting to slow, the weather is still pleasant, and the beer keeps coming! Plus, this time we are also going to be attending the Rodinný pivovar Zichovec Beer Fest featuring many of the small, regional craft breweries of Czechia.

Starting and ending in Prague, this beercation will also spend nights in České Budějovice and Brno, with several day trips to smaller cities and villages as we search out the amazing beers around Bohemia and Moravia!

Day 2 :
Prague

This morning we start our day off with a walking tour of Prague with Pub Culture Beercations' good friend Eva Sefrhansova. A tour guide for many years, Eva also participated in 1989's Velvet Revolution against then Czechoslovakia's communist government, and her insight and knowledge of current and historical events that led to the amazing city that is Prague today make for a very memorable tour!

After a group lunch, we will continue our tour with Eva for a little while longer, before you have the rest of the day free.

An optional guided Craft Brewery Pub Crawl is available for you to sign up for.

Today we depart from Prague and make our way to southern Bohemia. On the way, we will stop at one of the Czech Republic's most iconic castles, Karlštejn. This iconic castle was founded in 1348 by King Charles IV, and has served as a place for the safekeeping of the Imperial Regalia as well as the Bohemian Crown Jewels. It has also housed holy relics, and other royal treasures over the centuries.

After stopping at Karlštejn Castle, we continue to Český Krumlov, a UNESCO Heritage site. It is bisected by the Vltava River, and dominated by its 13th-century castle.

After checking into our hotel, you will have some free time before we have a group dinner at Historický pivovar Český Krumlov.

The rest of the night is free to enjoy the small pubs and beer bars of this quaint, Bohemian town after all the day-trip tourists leave.

Today we will make our way to České Budějovice, home of the Budvar Brewery - the only remaining State-owned brewery in the Czech Republic, where we will have a tour, tasting, and group lunch at Restaurace Masné krámy, a very popular local restaurant that is part of the Budvar Brewery.

After lunch, we will check into our hotel.

The remainder of the night is free for you to explore the museums, do some shopping, and enjoy the pubs of this little Bohemian town.

This morning you will have a free morning before we take a day trip to Pivovar Obora for a tour, tasting, and pub snacks before returning to České Budějovice. You will have the afternoon free to explore the town, visit museums, and climb the Black Tower. We will then have a group dinner at Minipivovar Krajinská 27, a small, local microbrewery.

The remainder of the night is again free to enjoy the pubs in this relaxing southern Bohemian town.

Day 6 :
Brno

Today we depart from Bohemia and make our way west to the Moravia, and Brno, the Czech Republic's second-largest city. We will make a stop at Rodinný pivovar Bernard for a tour, tasting, and lunch.

After lunch, we will continue on to Brno, where we will check into our hotel. The remainder of the night is yours to explore the vibrant nightlife of this university town.

Day 7 :
Brno

This morning we will have a short walking tour of Brno before we board our bus and head to the Moravian wine region just south of town where we will visit Sonberk winery.

After a tour and wine tasting, we will have a wine-paired lunch before returning to Brno where the rest of the night is free.

Day 8 :
Brno

Today we will make the short drive to the R. Jellinek Distillery - the largest distiller of fruit-based spirits in the world! After a tour and tasting, we will stop for a group lunch before continuing on to the Wild Creatures Brewery an up-and-coming star in the world of Lambic breweries. We will have a tour from the brewer, Jitka, as she tells us all about how she is brewing lambic in the land of Pilsner!

After our tour and tasting, we will return to Brno where you will again have a free evening to enjoy the fun nightlife - including some amazing craft cocktail bars!

This morning we will depart Brno and make our way back to Prague. On the way, we will stop briefly in Kunta Hora at the Sedlec Ossuary.

Take advantage of the breakfast room to fuel up, because we will have a busy day ahead.

Once we get checked into our hotel in Prague we will head to the Pivovar Zichovec Beerfest - your entrance ticket is included.

Today we will visit the origin of Pilsner beer, the Pilsner Urquell brewery. We will board our coach and make the trip to Plzeň where we will have a tour, tasting, and lite lunch before returning back to Prague.
